A: This merger process including the full member account data conversion will be complete on May 1st.
Q: Will funds still be insured?
A: Yes. Funds of up to $250,000 are insured by NCUA before and after the merger.
Q: When can I begin to have my account(s) serviced at ValleyStar branch locations?
A: You may begin having your accounts serviced at any ValleyStar branch location after the May 1st data conversion date. Until then, your accounts may only be serviced at the following locations:
- 366 Piney Forest Road in Danville
- 3240 Franklin Turnpike in Danville
- 4027 Halifax Road in South Boston
Q: What changes will we see at the former Piedmont CU facilities? A: All of the signage on the buildings and inside will be changed around February 1st to the new company name and branding of ValleyStar Credit Union. The branches will remain open with the same operating hours through the data conversion date of May 1st.
Q: What exactly will I be required to do before the merger is complete? A: Each existing Piedmont CU member has been sent an official Merger Support Guide in the mail. This is a comprehensive guide which includes important dates and detailed instructions for those things which require your attention during the transition. It is the goal of both organizations to minimize any disruptions in service by providing clear communication, and employees on both sides will be working extremely hard to ensure the transition is made smoothly and all members are well taken care of.
