Disc Golf Tournament Recap

On Saturday, Sept. 10th disc golfers came from all over southside Virginia to participate in the first Build A Better World Disc Golf Tournament.  Over $1,075 was raised for our local Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity!  Tournament Results are attached below.

The first round was a team competition.  Team #5, consisting of Mike Iverson, Jerod Hannold, Dwayne Young and Chris Young, beat out three other teams by a single stroke to win the team competition.  Team Showcase Magazine, while their scores didn't look all that great, easily took the 'Best Dressed" award with their matching Showcase hats!

In round two individual play Dwayne & Chris Young (father & son) tied for first place from the white tees.  Mike Francisco made several of his very best shots to win the advanced individual play from the blue tees falling short of his personal best by only a single stroke!

Kevin Chrystie won the "Closest to the Pin" contest (sponsored by Family Eyecare Center).

Averett student Molly Nanney launched a monster forehand drive straight down the middle of the fairway to take the "Longest Drive" contest (sponsored by Swedwood-Danville).

Piedmont Credit Union thanks all the players who came out to support our local Habitat for Humanity.  It was a great tournament with lots of surprises and plenty of good disc golf!

Special thanks also goes out to the following tournament sponsors...

Be sure to check out the photos & videos coming soon to our facebook page.
Until next year...
