Board of Directors

The credit union board of directors is comprised solely of volunteers from the membership of the credit union.  They meet at least once per month and set the overall course of the credit union.  They are elected at our Annual Meeting and serve two year terms.  Each credit union member may cast a single vote regardless of how much they actually use the credit union. The board also appoints various committees that help operate the credit union.

Credit Union Committees & What They Do

Supervisory Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for the following:

  • Seeing that management's reporting objectives have been met.
  • Seeing that management practices and procedures safeguard members' assets.

Some basic duties include regular and surprise cash counts and acting as a liaison between credit union members and the board if a member should have a discrepancy on their account. Members with relevant expertise in this area are welcome to serve on this committee.


Loan Review Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for reviewing and making decisions on questionable loan applications. 

  • Reviewing and making decisions on questionable loan applications.
  • Reviewing credit union employee loan applications.

Board members and members with relevant expertise in this area are welcome to serve on this committee.


Scholarship Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for the following:

  • Authoring the Dr. Harold Henry Scholarship Application.
  • Setting the terms and conditions of the scholarship.
  • Reviewing scholarship applications and choosing the recipients.

Any credit union member or employee may serve on this committee.


Personnel Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for the staffing of the credit union. Only Board members may serve on this committee.

 


Nominating Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for nominating members to serve on the Board of Directors and various committees. Only board members may serve on this committee.


Marketing Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for the following:

  • Educating members and the general public about the credit union philosophy.
  • Bringing credit union products and services before the membership.

Board members, credit union employees, and members with relevant expertise in this area are welcome to serve on this committee.


Technology Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for making recommendations to the board regarding new technologies and services that the credit union should utilize. Board members, credit union employees, and members with relevant expertise in this area are welcome to serve on this committee.


Social Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for planning the Annual Meeting and other credit union events. Any credit union member or employee may serve on this committee.


Finance/Budget/ALM Committee

This group is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for making budget recommendations to the Board.  Board members, credit union employees, and members with relevant expertise in this area are welcome to serve on this committee.


The ability for members to get involved in the management and operation of their credit union is a key difference that sets our credit union apart from other financial institutions.
