Free Meal at KFC!

KFC is offering a coupon for a free two piece grilled chicken meal!  My wife sent me a link this morning and it linked to a pdf file which printed easily.  Now KFC is forcing us to install a coupon printer application so they can track their results better and limit prints from a single computer.  It looks like KFC is really trying hard to change their public image and offer healthier foods.  I used my coupon this afternoon for my free meal.  I thought it was okay. I'd still rather have their fried chicken or better yet grill it at home myself. ... keep reading...

"Why Save Money?" or "Bad Things Happen in Threes!"

"Bad things happen in threes!"  At least that's what the refrigerator repairman said.  It all started when we went on vacation to Gatlinburg, TN with my family which lives mostly out of town.  It was a great trip!  We stayed up late playing dominoes(I won rather handily BTW).  We got stuck on a mountainside and had to engineer our way down.  The drive wasn't even that bad either.  This was one of the best vacations in recent memory.  When we arrived at home at 10pm on New Years Day it all unravelled!  Before I had gotten out of the car ... keep reading...

DIY (Do It Yourself) Lobby Video Screens

One way the credit union saved money was with our lobby video display system.  Let's face it, we have never done very much with signs in the lobby.  About a year ago we started to consider some sort of video display system.  We recevied quotes ranging from $7,000 to $15,000!!!  That was simply way too much money to spend on a glorified poster! ... keep reading...

A Great Deal!

Here’s one of the best deals available anywhere.  Are you ready? It’s your local public library.

You can read all the books you want and not pay one red cent!  Many libraries even let you check out dvd movies for free!  Last weekend my wife & I watch a delightful romantic comedy called “The Holiday”.  We got “Old Yeller” for the kids.  I cried, again.

So when is the last time you used your library card? ... keep reading...

How I Got 72 Miles Per Gallon!

Actually it represents a 30% increase in fuel efficiency. My 1993 Honda motorcycle typically gets about 55 mpg. But over the last few weeks I’ve been purposefully thinking about my driving habits and looking for ways to make them more efficient. Well my efforts have paid off. At my last fill-up the calculator said my mileage was 72.29 miles per gallon! Here’s what I’ve been doing. Much of this can easily be applied to 4 wheeled vehicles. ... keep reading...
