It's that time of year again! Summer is
winding down and if you have kids in school and haven't taken vacation
yet it might just be too late.
Speaking of school, our credit union was founded by teachers in 1969.
We would like to offer our sincere thanks to all the teachers and
educational employees over the years who have supported Piedmont Credit
Union. Southside Virginia just wouldn't be the same without caring,
dedicated educators like you! Have a great 2008-2009!

Field

On Tuesday July 29, 2008, the Danville Braves and several other local
sponsors, including Piedmont CU,
will host the 3rd Annual God's Pit Crew
Benefit Golf Tournament. There will be thousands of dollars in
cash prizes. It's even possible to win a car, diamond ring, or a

It all starts at 1:00 pm on July 29, 2008 at
Tuscarora Country Club. There are two ways to participate, three ways to help!

to win the prizes
The cost per four person team is $400. For an extra $100 a threesome
can pick up one of the Danville Braves players, coach, or management as
a fourth player.
Correction: The cost of entry was
misquoted in our recent Coins newsletter. That was the cost of
last years' tournament which was much smaller and at a different golf
course.

Annual Meeting Recap,
May 12, 2008
Last
Thursday, May 8, 2008 Piedmont Credit Union hosted it's 39th Annual
Meeting. It was a night filled with good food, good company,
magic, prizes, and inspiration. There wasn't much business to
discuss this year, 2007 was an overall very good year financially for
the credit union. The kids rolled in the dough playing our life-sized
PayDay game. Randy Johnson of
God's Pit Crew spoke to us about the great work that God's Pit Crew
does. Piedmont Credit Union is helping raise money for them to
purchase a new dually pickup truck. Below is a short video excerpt
from this year's meeting. (Our apologies for the obviously amateur
video)

Falling Home Equity Rates, Apr.
1, 2008
Much
like Danville's recent Spring Showers, our home equity loan rates have
followed suit and fallen lower than they have ever been! Today's
variable rate home equity loan
starts at 4.00%! For loans of $15,000 or more we'll
even throw in a $100 Lowe's gift card and we'll pay the closing costs.
The credit union has two types of home equity loans, variable and fixed.
The variable rate ranges from 4.00% to 4.75%. This rate is connected to
the U.S. Prime Rate and is also determined
by other factors such as credit history and the borrowers amount of
other debts.
Our fixed rate home equity loan rates range from 6.90% to 8.90%. Both
loans can carry up to a 15 year term.
To apply, just download and complete an application here, or
call one of
our loan officers.
